Common questions and answers on channel parallel connection

Latest updated: May 21, 2024
  1. Q: Is condition simulation testing and pulse testing supported after channel parallel connection?

A: After channel parallel connection on CT/CE-8000 series devices, condition simulation testing and pulse testing are supported.

  2. Q: After parallel connection of multiple ranges, does the range remain multiple ranges?

A: After parallel connection, the channels still have multiple ranges. The current for each range doubles according to the number of channels. For example, with 5V400A (10A\100A\200A\400A), after parallel connection of 2 channels, the range becomes: 5V800A (20A\200A\400A\800A)

  3. Q: Are there multiple ranges for voltage? Will the voltage double after channel parallel connection?

A: Currently, Newway devices have single-range voltage and only multiple-range current, not multiple-range voltage. Voltage is not affected after parallel connection and remains a single-range voltage.

  4. Q: Does channel parallel connection affect device accuracy?

A: Parallel connection does not affect the device's accuracy, so there is no need to adjust the device after parallel connection. However, before parallel connection, confirm whether the device's accuracy meets technical specifications. The calculation of the accuracy of parallel devices is based on the maximum range after parallel connection.

  5. Q: How many channels can be parallel connected at most, and can they be parallel connected across sub-devices?

A: Channels on the same sub-device board can all be parallel connected; that is, the 7-series supports a maximum of 8 channels parallel connection, and 8-series devices support a maximum of two channels parallel connection. Currently, parallel connection across sub-devices is not supported except for special board coding for 8.5.9n.

  6. Q: Does existing equipment support hardware parallel connection?

A: Currently, when referring to parallel connection, it is all about software channel parallel connection, i.e., merging channel lines and connecting them to the battery, setting channel parallel connection on the software interface.

Hardware parallel connection refers to the parallel connection of hardware modules inside the device, which is equivalent to a brand-new range device after leaving the factory.

  7. Introduction to channel parallel connection function of each series device.

CT/CE-4000: Devices greater than 50A support a maximum of four channels parallel connection, which does not support pulses after parallel connection.

CT/CE-5000 Series: Models with 5V75A and above support channel parallel connection, while the rest of the 5-series do not.

CE 6000-Series: Supports a maximum of four channels parallel connection, which does not support pulses and condition simulation testing after parallel connection.

CT/CE-8000 Series: Devices greater than 50A support a maximum of two channels parallel connection, which does not support pulses and condition simulation testing after parallel connection.

CT-9000 Series: Do not support channel parallel connection.
